New Museum of the Perugia Academy – GRAPHICS AND EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
The project contributed to the reopening of the Museum, closed for many years due to a seismic event. Requalification started by organizing contents and courses, and continued with equipment and outfitting and definition of the educational project. Our purpose was to provide visitors with a new interpretive system, capable of creating and conveying meaning. This was made possible by offering visitors with new learning processes through a graphic work endowed with many reading levels. The two main thematic areas in the museum, a plaster cast gallery and a gallery dedicated to painting and engraving, were differentiated by a different use of warm and cold colors. The tracing of “theme courses”, which create an itinerary through the art works, allows visitors to pick new and unexpected courses. The communications strategy for the opening event was centered on the theme of coming back after the long closing period. The evoked image is the opening of the museum to the town, its art works getting finally back to the people of Perugia again.
